Meet Our Horses

Artie - I am a charming liver chestnut gelding. I have been at Little Britches since 2007 and, well, I just LOVE it here. I was a lesson horse before I heard about the program, and as soon as I heard about it I said lesson schmesson. Believe you me, that was a life changing moment and now, well, I am just THRILLED to be here.

Summer - I am a chestnut Halflinger mare. I have been at Little Britches since early 2008 when I moved down from Maine. I was privately owned until my little girl grew too tall and together we agreed that Little Britches was the natural place for me to move onto. I love working with the kids, especially when it's gametime.

Dually - I am a chestnut gelding pony. I used to be a western lesson pony but that got stressful so I folded and have been here at Little Britches for the past eight years. Sometimes I may have a little too much fun with the therapeutic riding lessons.

Teddy Bear - I am a bay gelding pony. I am privately owned and moonlight at Little Britches three times a week. In my time away from Little Britches I go for rides with my own little girl, who is about eight years old. I bring the lessons I learn with her to the Little Britches classes.

Misty - I am Halflinger mare like Summer. I am privately owned. I love to go out for carriage rides with my owner. My passion is to help out at Little Britches. I am VERY excited about the new driving program that is starting up beacause as most of us drivers know, there just is not enough attention given to this specialty.

Taz - I am a dark bay gelding pony owned by that adorable Sammy. We love to go riding, she tells me EVERYTHING. We do both western and english shows in my time away from Little Britches. I have just started to work at Little Britches and I am having so much fun at the program.

Del aka Special Delivery-I am leased to Little Britches. I am a chestnut quater horse gelding with a white blaze on my face. I started working at Little Britches in the Summer of 2009. I fell in love with the program and the students right away. I have piercing blue eyes and long flowing mane, with blonde highlights, that everyone seems to love. I love to be ridden both english and western. I am excited about my future with this wonderful program.

Mocha- I am a bay draft cross mare. I am privately owned and free leased to Little Britches. I came to the program the same time as Del.  We are turnout buddies, meaning we share a playpen. My owner rescued me as a foal and trained me for riding, which I love. I have a strong understanding of the job at Little Britches and I love it.  I especially love when the kids groom and show me affection. I look forward to my future with Little Britches.

Tinkerbell- I am an older chestnut arabian mare. I found Little Britches later in my career but love it. I came to Little Britches in the summer of 2009. Prior to finding therapeutic riding I was a lesson pony at a the same farm Artie w as at. Luckily I have found a new passion and enjoy every moment I spend with the riders. I especially love it when we walk around the ring and I am able to spend 'quiet time' at the beginning of the lesson with my rider.
